Omg i had NO FREAKING IDEA he was so young... literally a decade younger than me, but already has such a poetic and instinctual and genuine understanding of music, and by extension the world itself.. like my mind is melting right now, i found him through MGK b/c truly almost every single one of MGK's songs old and new speaks to my soul in an emotional and indescribable way, and I've never found another artist that has more than 1 maybe 2 at the most songs that do that for me. So, Don't Sleep, Repeat did that for me compounded times 2, except more like times 1000, and welp now I'm sold for life. Die-hard fan, #lifegoals to meet you one day 44. Keep on the grind, in a similar way to MGK but still uniquely all your own, you're gonna lead and honestly probably save an entire generation, and that deserves SO much acknowledgement and respect, you will ALWAYS have mine. Much love, i am so excited to watch your life and career play out and follow and support what the future holds for you. Much love 💜🤘💜💯 P.S.-ive never pointed this out to anyone bc its just for me and my own self esteem and self expression, and bc your music speaks to my soul and i have no other way to describe it, but every time i paint my nails i add a different color "44" only on my right ring finger 💜🤘💜

As always I might be a little late to the party, but thank goodness that he has always had some positivities around him that pushed him to make more musics but still managed to stay true to himself and somehow I'm able to "aligned" to his, because dayum!! I haven't been on social media as much for a while but managed to find him on music platfroms lol and thanks for inviting him because 2 years later I could somehow relate to his life story and its interesting bcs everything feels very much aligned 😂

This was one of the best interviews ever. I'm a big fan of GCH, so I'm literally looking for any content I can get and this definitely served. No one is trying to act cool, literally just felt like I was there and part of the conversation. Thanks for giving us a gem of an interview. GCH is my favorite band of all time. FUCK YELLOWCARD!

In an age where we hear negative news about the wonderful folks that create art for us to consume almost every week, it's restoring to know that Donnie seems like an awesome guy that worked his ass off to get where he is and he deserves to be there. Awesome podcast!!❤

Thanks guys! That was a very informative interview. As a young Toronto band in the Hard Rock/metal genre, it is a tough go up here. Having had a successful run with John 5 through TKO in the US northeast, we can totally see our target audience is down in the USA and look forward to the release of our new album 'Dead Memories'

A joint thanks to you both, if you haven’t heard it lately, thanks for all you both do. It’s all contributing to more positive impacts in our shared existence than negative ones. 8:24 - just had to pause and say how much I appreciate this interview so far. Edit: I typed my whole life story about how I got into music but I remembered I’m trash and plus it’s too long. Anyway, moving the backstory! Mac Miller was my biggest inspiration. Had a bet with my friends that if I ever got to make a song with him, I’d start smoking again lol. But then he passed not even a month later. Still feels unreal

54:38 100% and that goes back to people teaching themselves by trying stuff out, watching videos, reading. A person teaching a pro tools class that knows everything about the software but that doesn’t mean they could engineer or produce anything good. When I was in the music scene playing in bands I remember this one kid he was probably 17 when he opened his studio, he posted pictures of this office space he rented with a bedroom looking studio we’re talking mattresses, lots of cheap stuff, windows software just looked like a joke and he was stupid cheap so I wrote him off. Well like 2 years later his band is doing REALLY good, playing warped tour all the time, touring with bigger names and then they drop another album and I was blown away so I looked into it and he recorded the entire album, mixed and mastered it, I couldn’t believe it no joke it sounded as good if not better then any major releases of that 2010ish metalcore. Then I find out he recorded a bunch of local bands mostly pop punk which sounded amazing. All he really had as far as good equipment was good mics, mic pre’s and everything else was his ability’s from sitting in his room from 10 years old teaching himself. If he was 10 years older he would probably be a big name in production and engineering kinda like an Andrew Wade.
